Vidya Metal Manufacturing Company Private Limited (VMI Group) increased its installed capacity for super-enamelled aluminum winding wires and strips to 25,000 tons per annum from 18,000 tons per annum in early 2025.
The Rajasthan-based manufacturer achieved this growth through commissioning a new production facility at Bandapur, operating alongside seven existing plants that also produce 12,000 tons per annum of copper products.
Driven by demand from transformer, motor, inverter, and switchgear equipment manufacturers, OEMs increasingly replace copper with aluminum in windings to control raw material costs amid expanding grid and renewable energy installations.
Group Director Abhinav Goyal said that the expanded output supports large-scale OEM supply programs with consistent enamel quality and dimensions.
